Welcome to Freight Forwarders’ World’s first magazine! We are excited to share this collection of interesting articles, a featured company, and a letter from our editor.
Our first article explores the potential spike in shipping rates after January 2020 due to the new regulations established by the International Maritime Organization. The regulations stipulate that sulfur oxide emissions shall be reduced from 3.5% m/m to 0.5% m/m, which has the potential to severely impact freight forwarders. This article explores this possibility and provides a list of the other trade factors affected by these regulations.
Our next piece is a feature on the freight forwarding company, World Logistics Services Company (WLSC). We will be having a feature like this with every issue, highlighting the real leaders in the freight forwarding community. Whether it’s by land, sea, or air, WLSC professionals have transported project and over-dimensional cargo through all climates, countries, and economies. Through WLSC’s commitment to innovation, their clients have the best access to information about their cargo, and WLSC’s team is always looking for the best way to find custom solutions to any logistical challenges. This feature goes on to describe WLSC’s many areas of expertise as well as their offerings.
The following article is an exploration of the customs procedures and international trade practices in Vietnam. As international freight forwarders, we know how important it is to be aware of these procedures, and any changes to rules and regulations. This piece outlines the different documents required by Vietnamese customs officers as well as provides information about the Priority Customs Treatment.
Our magazine then goes on to cover the impact of Brexit on freight forwarding, and solutions that will minimize its effects. We have analyzed solutions for both a hard and a soft Brexit option, and discussed how adapting current supply chains can help mitigate delays and other issues that are bound to arise in either Brexit situation.
We look forward to you reading our magazine and featuring or advertising your company in future issues. To be featured, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to leave your feedback or any topics you would like to see covered with our editor as well. For advertising options, please reach out to email@example.com.
